African child mortality rate up
NAIROBI (Kenya) – A NEW report on the UN’s Millennium Development Goals says 10 African countries have halved their poverty rates but that child mortality has increased in six sub-Saharan nations. Sub-Saharan Africa is the only region registering an increase in the mortality rate for children younger than 5 years.
