African Safari: Nairobi, Kenya Culture Masai
Sunday, January 31, 2010 10:20Posted in category Culture
A video I made of my trip to Kenya in 2003. I volunteered with the Earthwatch Institute at Sweetwaters Black Rhino Reserve. Music is by Hans Zimmer, from the soundtrack to The Lion King.

I know, I know – the music is not Kenyan, but it was the best I could do at the time with limited editing resources. The dances and costumes are all Kenyan since this took place at Bomas of Kenya.

Sorry vivacious, that is Kenyan music and Kenyan dance. Africa is similar in many ways than one, including our music and dance, strange! you are from Africa ain’t you? Good job to the person who shot the video, thanks for sharing our culture.

It seems much of this dancing is staged for tourists. The women don’t actually dance.

this is a great showing of kenyan stuff, looks like you taped this at BOMAS of Kenya. the PROBLEM is that the background music sounds like the Lion king music from South Africa. Please re-do it and use kenyan music, even if it is the famous JAMBO, JAMBO bwana song otherwise this is half done! Nice try though!
