Politics of survival

www.ntv.co.ke Typical of Kenyan politicians, Professor Sam Ongeri is hanging on as minister, even as it becomes clear that the only way to save his integrity is to pave way for investigations. As expected, he is blaming politics for his troubles , a path many in near similar circumstances have walked in the past. And as Jane Kiiyo reports, its a case of survival first, integrity later.

When the fired ministers convince their electorate that it’s about their tribe losing seats in government, the naive voters vote in these bunch of good-for-nothing politicians in the next elections. That’s how Kenya will always have corruption, impunity and unqualified persons in leadership. “Ni sisi”… so they said.

I don’t know who put it forth that professors are as good leaders and decision-makers as they are academicians or researchers. Beats me all the time.

The media only dilutes its authority when it plays to schemes by politicians, Jane Kio is just one young girl who will be judged by history harshly unfortunately, we shall be seeing her around otherwise the demise of some of these politicians is eminent, being old people with poor health.
